Celebrity Graveland

December 19, 1925 – March 6, 2012

Even if you don’t know the name Robert Sherman, you CERTAINLY know his and his brother’s contribution to American popular culture. Any devoted Disney fan could rattle off a laundry list of songs that Robert and Richard Sherman wrote:
“Chim Chim Cher-ee”
“Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious”
“I Wan’na Be like You”
“The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers”
“The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room”
“It’s a Small World (After All)”
…and that’s just a sample. Walt Disney used the Sherman Brothers almost exclusively for his movies and theme park attractions. And the songs have remained classics from the very beginning.

Robert Sherman was a Purple Heart medal recipient during World War II. He was a talented artist and writer and he came from a very musical family. He and his brother followed their father’s love for songwriting where they found their calling. In the end, Robert and Richard won two Academy Awards and countless other accolades and nominations. Their songs, both with Disney and after, have charmed generations. Robert died in London at the age of 86.
